Sex Trafficking Programs
Sex trafficking is a specific form of violence that involves force, fraud, or coercion by the trafficker to control their victim and the exchange of money or something of value with a buyer in exchange for sex and sexual activities with the victim. Traffickers often control every aspect of their victims’ lives. They often target vulnerable young people, including runaways. Most trafficking in Placer County takes place through online solicitations on social media and dating apps. If a minor is trafficked, then the trafficking is commercial sexual exploitation of children and carries additional penalties when traffickers are apprehended.
If your partner has asked you to have sex with other people in exchange for money, drugs, or even food, this may be trafficking.
