Domestic Violence Programs

Domestic violence is a range of behaviors used to establish power and exert control by one current or former intimate partner over the other. Domestic violence can take any of several forms: physical, financial, psychological/emotional, religious/spiritual, sexual, social, legal, or verbal. It can also include stalking and coercive control over the person being abused.

It tends to follow a cycle of building tension leading to an incident of physical, verbal, psychological or sexual abuse, followed by reconciliation where the person abusing attempts to apologize for the event and a period of calm. This cycle escalates as it repeats itself.

If you need help with domestic violence issues, if you’re not sure your situation is domestic violence, or if you need to talk with someone, reach out to our helpline at 800-575-5352 or via webchat 24/7. Our certified advocates are here to help you navigate this difficult time.
