Volunteering for our agency gives you the opportunity to make a difference, meet new people, use skills you have developed over your lifetime, learn new skills, and feel good by helping others.

Direct service opportunities

Direct service volunteer opportunities require completion of a 72-hour state mandated Crisis Intervention Peer Counselor Training. These opportunities allow you to work with our clients and provide services to them.  Examples of direct service opportunities include:

  • Crisis Line Counselor
  • Life Skills Instructor
  • Court Advocate
  • Group Facilitator
  • Child Play Specialist
  • Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Advocate

Indirect service opportunities

Indirect service volunteer opportunities do not require completion of the 72-hour training. These opportunities allow you to work behind the scenes and help support staff and clients. Examples of indirect service opportunities include:

  • Creating Safe House Welcome Baskets
  • Maintenance and Repair Support
  • Outreach Tabling Support
  • Event Associate
  • Fundraising Associate
  • Clothes Closet Organizing
  • Donation Processing
